It was wonderful to see so many families at our Open House events this week! We loved having the opportunity to welcome families into the building, meet teachers, and give you a glimpse into your child’s school experience. Thank you for taking the time to join us and for your continued partnership and support.
SAU 67 Connected Community Expo: Students, families, and community members are invited to attend the SAU 67 Connected Community Expo on Friday, September 25, from 4:30–6:30 p.m. at Bow High School to discover local resources, programs, volunteer opportunities, and student job openings. Early Morning Bus Pass Update: Erin has been able to stabilize routes and determine the available bus capacity across all of the routes. The good news is that we do have capacity on most of our buses to begin issuing early bus passes for students who would like to come in early for clubs and / or ensembles. Please know that for students to ride the early bus, they need to get a bus pass from their club advisor before getting on the bus.
We currently do not have capacity on Buses 6 & 8 based on BES ridership. We are hopeful that adding another driver soon will allow Erin to create a new route and open capacity on those two buses.
For now, the following bus routes can accommodate early morning bus passes beginning next week: 1, 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 12, 14, 20, 23
Currently the following 2 routes do not have capacity: 6 & 8
Thank you all for your cooperation and patience. As a reminder for students to ride the early bus, they need to get a bus pass from their club advisor before getting on the bus.
STUDENT HEALTH & ATHLETIC FORMS: A reminder that, the Health Office does not track which students participate in sports. It is the parent’s responsibility to upload required physical forms into each appropriate portal.

🎭 BMS Drama Club Meeting: Students interested in participating in the BMS Drama Club, along with their parents/guardians, are invited to attend a brief informational meeting on Tuesday, October 6 at 5:30 p.m. in the BMS Cafeteria. The meeting will be short and will provide an overview of the program and upcoming expectations.

It was a great week here at BMS! Today, we gathered for our traditional Welcome Back Assembly celebrating our BMS core values of Resilience, Ownership, Acceptance, and Respect (ROAR). Many students joined in the fun, making it a wonderful way to come together and get connected as a school community.
As we settle into our routines, we want to thank our families for their continued support and patience as we work through the beginning of year flow of morning and afternoon drop-off, as well as bus route pick-up and drop-off times. We appreciate everyone’s flexibility as these routines become more familiar and consistent.

🚌Bus Passes: At this time, we are not able to accommodate bus passes in the morning or afternoon. With several new routes this year, we are focused on keeping our transportation system running safely and efficiently as we establish consistent routines. This means that currently our BMS students cannot ride the elementary buses at this time. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through this transition.
💻Chromebook Care: Our goal is to support students in developing responsibility and digital citizenship. Each student receives a Chromebook for their learning. Please review these important expectations together. Chromebooks must be brought to school every day, fully charged. Students are expected to handle devices carefully and keep them secure. Loaner Chromebooks are available when needed, but repeated borrowing will result in additional steps to build responsibility. Any damage to a device may result in a $50 repair fee and $280 replacement fee. Restorative solutions, such as payment plans are available if needed. Once a Chromebook has been fixed, the responsible parties have two weeks to pay their fee or communicate with our team to resolve the problem. After two weeks a temporary Chromebook will not be provided. Thank you for working together to help all students succeed with technology.
It has been wonderful to have our students back for these first two days. The energy in the building has been positive, and we’re excited for the year ahead. We appreciate everyone’s patience and flexibility as we settle into routines, work through the details of the school day, and fine-tune bus routes. Thank you for helping make our start to the year a smooth one!

ROAR Score & More: As part of helping students develop strong organization skills, each student received an agenda book this week. Students are expected to fill it out daily and bring it home each night. Please take a moment each evening to check your child's agenda. It's a great way to stay informed about their learning and upcoming responsibilities.
As we head into the final week of the school year, there is a great deal of excitement in the air! Next week will be filled with celebrations, special activities, and opportunities for students to make lasting memories with their classmates and teachers. While we look forward to all the fun, it is important that students continue to demonstrate our ROAR values throughout the week. Finishing the year strong will help ensure that everyone can safely enjoy the many events and activities planned for our students.

June 12th will feature our annual ROAR Day celebration! Students will spend part of the day outdoors, so please help them come prepared by bringing a water bottle, sunscreen, and comfortable clothes and sneakers. This year, we will have a water games station, so students should bring a towel and wear clothing appropriate for getting a little wet. We’re looking forward to a fun day of celebrating together!
No Bus Passes on Friday, June 12: Due to transportation needs on the last day of school, we will not be able to accommodate any bus passes on Friday, June 12. All students must ride their assigned buses. Thank you for your understanding and for helping us ensure a smooth and safe dismissal!
Lunch on 6/12: The last day of school will be a pizza party lunch. Pizza will be the only entree served please plan accordingly.
Yearbooks: The preordering for the yearbooks on the website closed on May 31st, however there will be extra copies available for sale in person. 8th Graders ONLY may bring a check for $40 or cash on Tuesday and purchase a yearbook after the pre orders have been distributed. Students in Grades 5-7 who have not pre ordered may purchase leftover books beginning on Wednesday, after the pre orders have been distributed. Yearbooks can be purchased in person from Mrs. Hinck in Room 80. Checks should be made out to BMS Student Activities Account. Yearbooks from previous years may be purchased for $10 each.
End-of-Year Reminders: As we approach the end of the school year, please ensure your student’s lunch account is up to date. We appreciate your attention to any outstanding balances.
Additionally, we encourage you to log in to Alma to check for any other fees that may be due, such as past due library books or Chromebook repairs. Taking care of these items now helps ensure a smooth end to the year for everyone. Thank you for your continued support!
Lost and Found: We have a very full lost and found! If your child is missing a water bottle or sweatshirt it is likely lost and found. Please encourage your child to check out the lost and found if you are missing anything.
NH SAS Scores: We’re excited to share that families can now view their student’s state test scores directly in Alma through the “Test Scores” tab. This feature provides secure, one-click access to the NH Family Portal, where you can see official test score reports, no paper copies required! Check out this letter for all the details.

As we head into Memorial Day weekend, we would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Christopher Kenny for speaking at our Memorial Day Assembly today. Dr. Kenny joined the United States Army in 2005 and served as a physician in the Army Medical Corps. During his service, he provided care to injured soldiers returning from Iraq and Afghanistan, held several leadership roles and earned multiple certifications and honors, before his honorable discharge in 2017. His thoughtful words helped remind our students of the true meaning of Memorial Day, a time to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. We are grateful for the opportunity to reflect together as a school community on the values of sacrifice, gratitude, and service.
In addition, we would also like to give a huge shout out to our Band, Chorus, and Strings students for their outstanding performances this week! Their hard work, dedication, and talent were on full display, and we are incredibly proud of all they accomplished. Thank you as well to our music teachers for the time and care they put into supporting our students throughout the year.

Student Council News:
Election Week NEXT WEEK! It's Election Week! Next week, candidates from each grade will post their election posters and rally for support. Student Council Elections will be held on Friday, May 29th. Election results will be announced at the end of the school day.
BMS Students: As you cast your votes next Friday, we urge you to earnestly consider who you'd like to represent your grade in next year's Student Council. As you consider which candidates to vote for, ask yourself: which of your classmates really invests themselves in the BMS community? Who do you trust to stand up for a classmate, to do the right thing, and to bring their best daily? Who shows that they care about your voice and your opinions? Who has the strength and composure to make those opinions heard?
Candidates: Next week is election week! Be sure to hang your posters on Tuesday. Advocate for yourselves! Emphasize your skills, your talents, your dedication to this community, and your desire to make your classmates' voices heard. Be sure to practice your speeches so you sound confident on Election Day.
In your speech, focus on what qualifies YOU to represent your classmates rather than making campaign promises. And remember, you aren't allowed to hand out gifts or prizes.
A-Z Countdown to Summer The countdown continues! We've seen some awesome participation this year.
America’s 250th: This year marks an exciting milestone as our country prepares to celebrate America’s 250th birthday! In Social Studies classes, students will take part in a schoolwide timeline project highlighting important moments throughout American history. Each class will be assigned a dedicated time period to research and create. Students will build timelines that showcase the people, events, and accomplishments that helped shape our nation, and then we will combine all of the timelines together to display the full span of 250 years of American history! We are looking forward to seeing students bring history to life through this collaborative project.
BMS EarlyAct: The BMS EarlyAct Club will offer a snack table at Tuesday's Home Baseball & Softball games. We accept cash donations only, and money we make gets donated back to the community!

There is so much excitement building at BMS! SPRING CONCERT BAND INFORMATION
We want to invite all of our community, friends, and family to Bow Memorial Schools 2026 spring concert. This concert will take place on May 20th at the Bow High School auditorium. As always, admission is free of charge. We hope to see you all there for our final performance of the school year. Our students will have a dress rehearsal for the concert on the day of the concert from 10:45-1:00. All students will need to bring their instruments, music, AND A LUNCH for the day as we will not be at BMS during their normally scheduled lunch.

Arrival: 6:00 for tuning and warm ups, performance will be starting at 6:30pm.

Pop-Up Art Show: There will be a Pop-Up Art show during the BMS Spring Concert on Wednesday, May 20th for one night only! Work will be exhibited in the main lobby of BHS during the hours of the concert (6:30pm - end of concert). Featured work includes art from grades 5-8 from the later art rotations. Please stop by and enjoy!
Upcoming 5K : The Say Cheese for Olivia 5k will be held on Saturday, May 30th, at 10:00 AM at Bow High School. (55 Falcon Way, Bow, NH 03304) If you're familiar with the Famous Bow Turkey Trot, this race will run the same course, from Bow High School to Hanson Park fields and back. Held in honor of Olivia, a Kindergarten aged girl from Massachusetts who is in remission with Leukemia, this event will benefit Blood Cancer United and is part of a Visionary of the Year fundraising campaign supporting the fight against blood cancer. There is also a virtual option for those who can't join us in person. We will be placing in the following age categories, 1st - 3rd - boys and girls. Ages 0-7, 8-9, 10-12, 13-18, 1st - 3rd Men's and Women's. 19-24, 25-30, 31-35,36-40, 41-45, 46-50, 51-55, 56-60, 61-65, 66+ and also an overall winner in Men’s and women’s.You can register for the race by clicking on the link below.

As we wrap up Teacher Appreciation Week, we want to extend a HUGE thank you to our incredible teachers and staff for the care, energy, and dedication they bring to BMS. Our school community is stronger because of the work you do, and we are so grateful for all that you give to support our students. A special thank you as well to the Bow PTO for an amazing week of goodies and thoughtful treats that helped show appreciation for our staff in such a meaningful way.
As we move deeper into May, the pace of the school year continues to pick up quickly! There are many exciting events, activities, celebrations, and important end-of-year updates ahead, so please continue to keep an eye out for emails, newsletters, and communications from the school.

A reminder for 8th grade families: On Monday, May 11th, our 8th graders will participate in a financial education fair sponsored by CU4 Reality in our BMS gym. Ms. Mahoney has sent an email to 8th grade families with more information regarding this event.
BMS Walk-a-thon Results:
The BMS Walk-a-thon was a huge success this year! Thanks to your engagement and generosity, we were able to raise nearly $7,000 for the Pope Memorial SPCA and Make-a-Wish.
Your donations bring light to the lives of children facing life-threatening conditions and provide comfort and care to animals who have experienced abuse, neglect, or abandonment.
We offer sincere thanks to our donors, our student body, and the Student Council Representatives. Together, this community is making a difference.
Student Council Election Season is NOW:
If your student is interested in running for Student Council, next week will be a busy week. This past Tuesday, homeroom teachers discussed with students what it takes to become a Student Council rep: we're looking for demonstrated leaders who invest themselves in the BMS community and consistently demonstrate R.O.A.R. values.
If your student demonstrates interest and is selected as a candidate, he or she will be receiving important paperwork on Monday:
- A "Student and Parent Commitment" form which details the duties of both students and parents of Student Council Representatives.
- A "Student Application" (a digital document in your student's email) in which students describe their qualifications and write their campaign speech.
It is imperative that students are timely with the application process. This is the first opportunity for potential reps to demonstrate the responsibility and ownership required to be a Student Council Rep.
A-Z Countdown to Summer :
The countdown to summer vacation has begun. There are ONLY TWENTY FOUR SCHOOL DAYS left until break! Each day until June 12, there will be a new theme. Participation is, of course, optional, but we hope all of our students find opportunities to join in the fun.
The Bow PTO is hosting an 8th grade Semi formal dance! The dance will take place on Friday, May 15, 2025, at Bow High School from 7pm to 9pm. Let's make this event a special one for them. We'll need your help with snacks and drinks for them, chaperones and help setting up, decorating and cleaning up. All food/drink items can be dropped off to Bow High School on May 30 anytime during the school day, or between 4:30pm-6:30pm before the dance. We thank you for your help

As we head into Spring Break, we’re excited to share some incredible news from today, our Student Council sponsored Walk-a-Thon was a huge success! Together, our community raised over $5,500 in support of the Pope Memorial SPCA and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. We are so proud of the energy, generosity, and school spirit our students showed throughout the day great job, Wildcats!
We hope all of our families enjoy the school vacation week. When we return, the remainder of the school year moves quickly. There will be many important updates, events, and opportunities shared in the weeks ahead. Please be sure to keep an eye out for messages and communications as we head into this busy and exciting stretch.
