New Club Opportunity: BMS Model UN Club
HMUN Head Delegate Milo Cocola will be talking to 7th & 8th grade social studies classrooms next week! Below is some key information and attached is the full MUN application. We hope students consider joining!
7th and 8th graders! Are you interested in speech or debate? Do you like learning about history, geography, or world politics? Do you like meeting new people? Are you passionate about world issues like poverty, hunger, climate change, or war? If your answer is yes to any of these questions, the new BMS Model United Nations Club might be for you!
What is Model UN?
Model United Nations is a program which involves the simulation of the United Nations. In a MUN (Model UN), delegates (students) gain insight into the workings of the United Nations and the dynamics of international relations by assuming the roles of UN representatives from countries around the world. Model UN is an exciting opportunity for students to debate issues that confront world leaders and to create solutions in response to these global issues. Participants will develop their abilities to work with others who are equally passionate about the topics of debate and to respond to global concerns by taking on the role of a country and its interests in the context of international issues.
Who can join, and when are the meetings?
The club will be open to 7th and 8th graders at BMS, and meet weekly starting in November on Mondays. Meetings will be held from 3:15-4 after school. Our advisor will be Mr. Castagna, with Bow High School Senior and HMUN Head Delegate Milo Cocola running the club alongside him. Milo is spearheading the club as his senior project.
Once the application is complete, please turn them in to Mr. Castagna!
PTO Sponsored 5th & 6th Grade Social: The Bow PTO is thrilled to host this event at Bow Memorial School on October 23rd from 7:00-8:30. The 5th and 6th graders from Bow and Dunbarton are invited to gather, dance, & snack. Tickets are $5 and will be sold at lunches on 10/22 and 10/23. In order to make this a great event for all we are in need of volunteers to help sell tickets at lunches, chaperone the dance, man the snack table and help set up and clean up. Any help is greatly appreciated. We can not do this without all your help! Halloween costumes are encouraged! We’re looking forward to seeing everyone’s creativity. We have so many awesome events and activities planned for this year, and your student representatives can't wait to get started! Plus, right after that, we will be hosting our annual Food and Toy Drive in early November, so start thinking about what you can donate to help out families in our immediate community. Calling All Mummy’s, Ghouls, and Trunk Decorators!
Come and participate in Town of Bow’s annual Trunk or Treat at Bow Elementary School! The Parks & Rec Department is looking for creative volunteers to transform their vehicles into hauntingly fun trunks for little trick-or-treaters in our community. This event is scheduled for Sunday, October 25th from 2:00-3:30 pm. Those decorating their trunks are able to arrive at 12:30 to park and decorate their trunks.
During the event guests attending will cast their vote at the Park & Rec booth for their favorite decorated trunk. Prizes will be awarded to the trunks with the most votes in TWO categories, family and business/organization. You must provide your own decorations and treats for guests. Today is Custodian Appreciation Day, and we want to take a moment to recognize and thank our BMS custodial team for all they do to keep our school clean, welcoming, and ready for our students and staff each day. Their work is an important part of making BMS a great place to learn and work.
As we hit October, we’re excited to see students making progress and building strong academic habits. We want to encourage families to begin checking ALMA regularly, as gradebooks now provide a helpful snapshot of student progress. A weekly check-in can be a simple way to stay connected with your student’s assignments, grades, and overall learning. If you need help accessing ALMA, please reach out to the BMS office at bmssec@sau67nh.gov. Please remember that students are also all provided with an agenda book that they fill out for every class so you can see what they have for homework.

Student Council News: The 2026 - 2027 BMS student Council is in session! Every Tuesday, our elected representatives will share events and updates with their peers during homeroom. Next week, Student Council will be electing the Executive Board. After the election, we'll announce the student body President, Vice President, Corresponding Secretary, Recording Secretary, and Treasurer. Future Student Council updates will be composed by our elected student reps.

SAU 67 Connected Community Expo: Students, families, and community members are invited to attend the SAU 67 Connected Community Expo on Friday, September 25, from 4:30–6:30 p.m. at Bow High School to discover local resources, programs, volunteer opportunities, and student job openings. Early Morning Bus Pass Update: Erin has been able to stabilize routes and determine the available bus capacity across all of the routes. The good news is that we do have capacity on most of our buses to begin issuing early bus passes for students who would like to come in early for clubs and / or ensembles. Please know that for students to ride the early bus, they need to get a bus pass from their club advisor before getting on the bus.
We currently do not have capacity on Buses 6 & 8 based on BES ridership. We are hopeful that adding another driver soon will allow Erin to create a new route and open capacity on those two buses.
For now, the following bus routes can accommodate early morning bus passes beginning next week: 1, 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 12, 14, 20, 23
Currently the following 2 routes do not have capacity: 6 & 8
Thank you all for your cooperation and patience. As a reminder for students to ride the early bus, they need to get a bus pass from their club advisor before getting on the bus.

It was a great week here at BMS! Today, we gathered for our traditional Welcome Back Assembly celebrating our BMS core values of Resilience, Ownership, Acceptance, and Respect (ROAR). Many students joined in the fun, making it a wonderful way to come together and get connected as a school community.
As we settle into our routines, we want to thank our families for their continued support and patience as we work through the beginning of year flow of morning and afternoon drop-off, as well as bus route pick-up and drop-off times. We appreciate everyone’s flexibility as these routines become more familiar and consistent.

Please note that BMS students will have their pictures taken on September 14. Check out the attached flyer for ordering information!
🚌Bus Passes: At this time, we are not able to accommodate bus passes in the morning or afternoon. With several new routes this year, we are focused on keeping our transportation system running safely and efficiently as we establish consistent routines. This means that currently our BMS students cannot ride the elementary buses at this time. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through this transition.
💻Chromebook Care: Our goal is to support students in developing responsibility and digital citizenship. Each student receives a Chromebook for their learning. Please review these important expectations together. Chromebooks must be brought to school every day, fully charged. Students are expected to handle devices carefully and keep them secure. Loaner Chromebooks are available when needed, but repeated borrowing will result in additional steps to build responsibility. Any damage to a device may result in a $50 repair fee and $280 replacement fee. Restorative solutions, such as payment plans are available if needed. Once a Chromebook has been fixed, the responsible parties have two weeks to pay their fee or communicate with our team to resolve the problem. After two weeks a temporary Chromebook will not be provided. Thank you for working together to help all students succeed with technology.
It has been wonderful to have our students back for these first two days. The energy in the building has been positive, and we’re excited for the year ahead. We appreciate everyone’s patience and flexibility as we settle into routines, work through the details of the school day, and fine-tune bus routes. Thank you for helping make our start to the year a smooth one!

ROAR Score & More: As part of helping students develop strong organization skills, each student received an agenda book this week. Students are expected to fill it out daily and bring it home each night. Please take a moment each evening to check your child's agenda. It's a great way to stay informed about their learning and upcoming responsibilities.
As we head into the final week of the school year, there is a great deal of excitement in the air! Next week will be filled with celebrations, special activities, and opportunities for students to make lasting memories with their classmates and teachers. While we look forward to all the fun, it is important that students continue to demonstrate our ROAR values throughout the week. Finishing the year strong will help ensure that everyone can safely enjoy the many events and activities planned for our students.

June 12th will feature our annual ROAR Day celebration! Students will spend part of the day outdoors, so please help them come prepared by bringing a water bottle, sunscreen, and comfortable clothes and sneakers. This year, we will have a water games station, so students should bring a towel and wear clothing appropriate for getting a little wet. We’re looking forward to a fun day of celebrating together!
No Bus Passes on Friday, June 12: Due to transportation needs on the last day of school, we will not be able to accommodate any bus passes on Friday, June 12. All students must ride their assigned buses. Thank you for your understanding and for helping us ensure a smooth and safe dismissal!
Lunch on 6/12: The last day of school will be a pizza party lunch. Pizza will be the only entree served please plan accordingly.
Yearbooks: The preordering for the yearbooks on the website closed on May 31st, however there will be extra copies available for sale in person. 8th Graders ONLY may bring a check for $40 or cash on Tuesday and purchase a yearbook after the pre orders have been distributed. Students in Grades 5-7 who have not pre ordered may purchase leftover books beginning on Wednesday, after the pre orders have been distributed. Yearbooks can be purchased in person from Mrs. Hinck in Room 80. Checks should be made out to BMS Student Activities Account. Yearbooks from previous years may be purchased for $10 each.
End-of-Year Reminders: As we approach the end of the school year, please ensure your student’s lunch account is up to date. We appreciate your attention to any outstanding balances.
Additionally, we encourage you to log in to Alma to check for any other fees that may be due, such as past due library books or Chromebook repairs. Taking care of these items now helps ensure a smooth end to the year for everyone. Thank you for your continued support!
Lost and Found: We have a very full lost and found! If your child is missing a water bottle or sweatshirt it is likely lost and found. Please encourage your child to check out the lost and found if you are missing anything.
NH SAS Scores: We’re excited to share that families can now view their student’s state test scores directly in Alma through the “Test Scores” tab. This feature provides secure, one-click access to the NH Family Portal, where you can see official test score reports, no paper copies required! Check out this letter for all the details.
